The Animated Pilot Episode

There are lot's of new things going on!! The site has been updated with profiles for characters who are scheduled to debut in the first animated episode of El Latino Flow. We've got some incredible voice talent who contributed during the scratch recording sessions. Here's a quick breakdown of who's who so far! William Heredia:Chicharron de Pollo, Michael Diaz: Mani Mezcla, Pedro Coiscou: Coco Pelao, Rhadames, Don Bandido, Eddie Almodovar: Don Demonio, Flatfoot Freddy, Frank Aparicio: Elvin Diache, Ilonka Garcia: La Chinita. We're still recording and searching for some more voice talent. The Pilot episode "Flow-N-Tell" began production in early October. Flow-N-Tell helps capture some of the funny characters in the El Latino Flow world that revolve around Chicharron and Mani Mezcla and the struggles they endure to make a name for themselves in the Latin music industry.

As it worked out, two of the popular comics became a perfect addition to the script. We're working on completing the animatic of the pilot by December. With the current small crew, the goal is to have the pilot episode animated and packaged for DVD for Comic-con 2008. Stay tuned to ellatinoflow.com for latest news and updates.

El Latino Flow cartoon featured in Magazine

It was an honor to have been featured in the April issue of DTM magazine. It was an opportunity to bring some more awareness to the Latino community of some of the struggles that we all have had to and continue to endure in order to acheive our goals.

El Latino flow isn't just about Dominicans and Puerto Ricans, it's about a mixture of all Latino cultures who have infiltrated the hip-hop community and other musical genres, making some significant contributions. One of El Latino flow characters named Panama Starr, is an outgoing TV/Radio personality whose name was inspired by one of the fathers of Reggaeton. The Panamanian artist known as El General. I grew up listening to him in junior high school and remembered his fresh new Jamaican/Latin mixed music, blasting out of cars and playing in every house party in the late 80's. He is just one of the many characters inspired by latin musicians and artists. One of the protagonists, Chicharron (originally called Jeff fresh, but later changed to chicharron) was inspired by one of my brothers childhood friends Jeff Otero of the L.E.S of Manhattan, who taught me how to write graffiti and perfect my handwriting. He later got into producing hip-hop tracks and mentored my favorite hip-hop artist and brother Fokis. But he never got out of writing. Like chicharron, Jeff was still not trying to let go of the 80's!

Creativity is contagious. Many talented individuals have influenced and continue to impact me in ways that inspired me to create. Every Latino flow character has their story to tell. I invite you all to pull up a chair and join the cast of El Latino flow on all of their adventures, trials and tribulations in their efforts to blaze a trail in the entertainment industry. Maldito Flow Vs. Latino Flow

What's in a name? For those of you who have followed this comic strip from the beginning will remember it as "El Maldito Flow". The story of two Latin artists struggling to get their independent record label off of the ground and compete with the giant Latin record labels. The struggles are the same but the name has changed. El Latino Flow (as it is now called) has raised the bar for Latin comic strip artists nationwide. Reaching both young and old crowds, the name "Maldito" which is a swear word, just wasn't a good choice for a name as younger audiences became interested in the strip. It was also a potential barrier to getting the strip viewed on air as an animated series with the "Maldito Flow" title. I wanted to get a name that was much more inviting. I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to anyone who may have been offended by the "maldito flow" logo.

Several doors have opened for the strip since the name change. This comic strip series is just the blueprint for the future animated series planned for herediadesigns. The new website name will be www.ellatinoflow.com. If you enter malditoflow.com, it will route you to the new site. in a world of politically incorrect cartoons pushing the edge, I pride myself in creating a series for and dedicating it to our young Latino teens and adults, that is curse free.
